Leading the project “Ocean Literacy Integration into the School Curricula” within the framework of curricula revision prioritization, aligning ocean topics with the science curricula, and local participation with nationwide impact.

Design of the Bay Islands National Marine Park Teachers and Student Guides, for grades K-9,  that integrate ocean literacy topics, key topics relevant to the marine protected area, climate change, etc.

In November 2022, the Climate Guardians Award of UNICEF LAC – Fundación MERI, recognized initiatives led by teachers, awarding the project  “ Ocean Literacy Integration within the School Curricula of the Bay Islands”. Out of 177 projects, then narrowed down to 35 finalists, they awarded 4, one per category, being ours the winner in the School curricula category that allowed me to participate in the Teachers COP, a side event previous to the COP27, obtaining a second place after France curricula project.
